A regular bird in most habitats, the rock dove is the ancestor of domesticated pigeons. They are technically the same species as the feral pigeon and come in a variety of colours and markings, but the true rock dove colours feature the striped wing bars. This decoration features a pigeon with the rock dove pattern, but it's impossible to know if you are looking at a true rock dove by sight.
This decoration is made from sustainably sourced birch plywood and highlights the bird’s iridescent blue and pink neck feathers. On the reverse, you’ll find fascinating insights about these wonderful birds we have had help from throughout history and both world wars. Perfect for gifting for pigeon lovers and those who appreciate misunderstood animals.
